Success Testimonials

I have been taking golf instruction from Mr. Richard Brown for several years. Over that span of time, I have seen my game from the wild 100’s to a single digit handicap. As a teacher, Mr. Brown is very attentive to the needs of his student athletes. While instructing, he will point out the exact item that needs addressing and will patiently work with you through it in every aspect. He instills his confidence in each individual, you and old alike, to maximize their athletic capabilities and potential. After each golf lesson he assesses your practice session and assigns “at home” exercises to work on in between lessons.

Since I have been under the mentorship of Mr. Brown, I have seen him ascend to become a PGA Master Professional, in Teaching and Coaching. Mr. Brown has been teaching for over 30 years, and his craft and skills have elevated over those years. As a teacher, he recognizes that one must remain a student. To forget how it is to be a student, is to defeat oneself as a teacher. His teaching credentials are on par and exceedingly better than most than what I have witnessed in PGA Professionals. As the first African-American man to receive the designation of PGA Master Professional, he deserves a chance to continue to make history in becoming the first renown African-American coach on the PGA Tour. “ - Malcolm Price

“Richard is truly an amazing golf instructor for all age groups. His working knowledge of golf is definitely at an expert level.

Richard provided really effective coaching lessons for me, based on my skill level as a novice player. I was your typical recreational golfer playing occasional rounds with business associates. He worked with me in all aspects of my game. He really helped me improve my confidence level, and club selection. The ultimate result for me, was gaining the ability to have consistent play with lower scoring rounds over time.

I would recommend The Richard Brown School of Golf to anyone who is looking for a technically sound, and enjoyable approach to elevation their golf game.” - Andy Tyndall

My son struggled with set-esteem and confidence issues. When Richard Brown started working with him to teach him the game of golf, it was the first time I saw my son so interested in playing and studying on how own. His game improved greatly, his confidence grew and he looked forward to every lesson and played every chance he got. Coach Brown’s teaching methods coupled with the latest technologies, and the attention to detail that he shows to his students to develop their skills is unparalleled. Alway with professionalism and the utmost respect for his students and their families.” - Shelly Willoughby

“Coach Brown has been a major influence on my daughters development in the game of golf. He has been their coach since they were toddlers, and now to see the development is amazing. They have gone from just being able to hit the ball to now learning how to manage the course. We are now in competitive golf at the High School level, and he is helping them with their tournament philosophy. I am happy with everything we have done so far, and looking forward to what we can achieve in the future” - Sean Mitchell

“I would like to thank your for your help with my irons. Your quick analysis of my lack of thoracic rotation and the exercises you suggested to enforce our lesson session greatly improved my game. Your suggestions shaved 5 strokes off my handicap and gave me new enjoyment for the game.

Solving my fear out of the bunker was another obstacle you were able to help me with. After our brief discussion on what I was trying and your guidance, my fear has been replaced with complete confidence. I am still amazed at how quickly you analyzed my swing and corrected my path tha produced immediate results. The confidence has resulted in another 5 shots that have been removed from my handicap.

As I have witnessed your teaching others and kids over my brief time at Quail Valley, you are growing the game! I know if I would have had someone like you earlier in my game, I would be a better player today.” - Sincerely Dale Edwards

“ Needing to build a well-rounded resume for her future college opportunities, my daughter really wanted to get on the High School Golf Team. The only problem was she had never played before, except to maybe hit a few balls in the backyard for fun. Coach Brown was able to give my daughter the tools necessary for her tryout and she was successful in making the team! We decided to it’s a good investment to continue her lessons. Coach Brown has built her confidence, pinpoint any corrections she needs , and she has been with the school golf team for the past 3 seasons.” - Cindy Ngo

“Richard has a great ability to make technical swing suggestions in an easy to understand manner. If i was unable to implement a suggestions after a few attempts, he would explain his point in a different way that I could understand better. He has great patience and offers lots of encouragement. He connects with golfers of all skills and ages, including this senior golfer.” - Tom Moore, Director of Advancement, The Kinkaid School, Houston, Texas

Richard was a consummate professional in helping me in two areas. The first being lag putting. I was losing a lot of strokes and confidence resulting in aiming for the flag even when there placed in challenging positions. His approach and demeanor were both scientific and calming and I have consequently reduced my 3 putts to about one per round at most. This has dropped my handicap to 9.1 currently. Another area of support was in my ball striking and he emphasized being able to set my hands in the right position before impact, resulting in better ball striking with increased distance.

Richard is approachable and patient and I highly recommend him as a golf coach for anyone aspiring to take their game to the next level…
